A podcast for true comic book fans
In a recent interview Anthony Russo spoke about the rumors of multiple Spider-Man costumes in Captain America: Civil War and this is what he had to say, “Well, we researched a lot and do a lot of experiments for all the characters. We did the same with Spider-Man,” Russo offered. “We knew it had to be someone young, it was very important because we wanted to give this essence to the character, it is something unique in the Marvel Universe. Tom Holland is an amazing Spider-Man, people will love it. It was a very experimental process, placing it with other actors, especially with Downey Jr., we were learning as we did and are very happy with the result. But we are still working on some things, like the uniform. He’s not ready because so much will be produced with special effects.”
Well it sounds like for one, he is offering an explanation of why we haven’t seen Spidey in the trailers yet, but also could be hinting at the Iron Spider-Man costume from the original Civil War Comic book, writen by Mark Millar. The costume was given to Peter, by Tony Stark, because the 2 had been working together in Stark Tower and became friends. In another rumor it was stated that Tony Stark/Ironman does give Peter his costume in the movie. Although not the most loved of the Spider-Man costumes (nothing beats the Amazing Bag-Man) one can see how it would make an interesting visual costume for the movie.
I guess we’ll find out in May, for now check out the trailer for Captain America: Civil War below
